Pert Bruce was commissioned by a leading Speyside whisky distillery to restore and convert a 19th-century, Category B listed house into a luxury residence for entertaining international buyers. Working closely with the client and our supply chain, the team sensitively repaired the sandstone façade, restored original sash windows, and reinstated key period features such as cornices, fireplaces, and panelled doors. Modern comforts — underfloor heating, and high-performance insulation — were integrated without compromising the property’s historic character, ensuring a balance between authenticity and contemporary luxury.

The completed project transformed the long-neglected Victorian property into an elegant guest house that embodies both the heritage of the building and the prestige of the client’s whisky brand. Featuring five ensuite bedrooms, a whisky lounge, and formal dining areas, the accommodation now provides a refined environment for tastings, private events, and brand storytelling. Delivered on time and within budget, the project showcases craftsmanship, attention to detail, and expertise in the restoration and adaptation of listed buildings.
