An outstanding 15th century house on a site owned by the same family for 800+ years requires a very special application of conservation principles. Meticulous care was taken to preserve the precious building fabric of the deservedly A-Listed Arbuthnott House, whilst gently adapting it to suit the lifestyle of a 21st century family. This was a project that resolved a negotiation between the past, the present and future – giving a new lease of life to this multi-layered and extraordinary family home.
